About the review desk

An independent desk for
brochure builders.

Brochure Builder Pro is a review project covering the apps and tools people use to design, lay out and print a brochure. We test those tools against a published rubric and rank them on their merits — so you can pick one with confidence and get to designing.

01

What this site is for

The market for brochure and layout software is crowded and moves quickly. New builders, design apps and print services appear constantly, each with its own pricing page and its own claims. This site exists to test that field and rank it in a way a reader can actually act on.

We are not a tool ourselves and we do not host your files. Our work is editorial: we put builders through the same evaluation, publish how they score, and note the things worth checking before you commit time or money to any of them.

02

How we score a builder

Every tool is read against the same four-part rubric. The weighting is fixed and published, so a score means the same thing from one review to the next.

  1. 01 Templates & Layout The range and quality of starting designs, and how much control you keep over columns, panels, type and imagery once you begin editing.
  2. 02 Ease of Use How quickly a first-time user gets from a blank canvas to a finished, presentable brochure — and how often the tool gets in the way.
  3. 03 Export & Print The fidelity of the exported PDF, whether bleed and crop marks are handled properly, and how print-shop-ready the output really is.
  4. 04 Price & Value How plans are structured, what sits behind a paywall, and whether the price is fair for what the tool actually delivers.

Independent

Ranking is never sold. Position on a list follows the rubric, not the commission.

Hands-on

We describe what a builder actually does when you use it — not what its marketing page claims.

Revisable

Reviews are updated as tools change features and pricing. A ranking is meant to be corrected.

03

Editorial independence

The order in which builders appear is decided by us and no one else. A company cannot buy a higher ranking, a better write-up, or a place it would not otherwise earn. When our view of a tool changes, the review — and its position — changes with it.

04

Affiliate disclosure

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you follow one and sign up for or buy a product, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. That arrangement helps fund the testing and writing behind these reviews.

It does not change how we score or rank a tool. Builders earn their position on the rubric, and an affiliate relationship is never a condition for a good review — nor does its absence keep a strong tool off the list.
